Exports from Greece 03/2016




Exports from Greece dropped 11.4 percent to €2.10 billion in March of 2016 from €2.36 billion a year earlier. Among trade partners, exports to the European Union rose slightly by 0.7 percent while sales to third countries fell 30.4 percent. Considering the first quarter of the year, exports amounted to €5.72 billion, 8.9 percent lower than €6.28 billion in the same period of 2015. Exports in Greece averaged 1645.40 EUR Million from 2001 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 2767.73 EUR Million in November of 2012 and a record low of 691.90 EUR Million in August of 2002. Greece main exports are mineral fuels (37 percent of the total exports); manufactured goods (13 percent) and food and live animals (12 percent). Others include: chemicals (9 percent); machinery and equipment (7 percent); miscellaneous products (6 percent) and crude materials except fuel (4 percent). Main export partners are: Germany (11 percent of total exports), Italy (10 percent), Turkey (6 percent), Cyprus (7 percent), United Arab Emirates (4 percent) and United States (4 percent).
